P. STAFF, "Conjunctions"
P. Staff's Conjunctions installation, presented as part of the Prelude exhibition at the Fondation Luma, immerses the viewer in a deep reflection on the intensity of the relationship between two bodies, whether celestial or planetary, human or cyborg, living or undead. Through this work, P. Staff explores the concepts of contact and the transfer of energy through matter, thus questioning the boundary between the organic and the non-organic, the living and the non-living. This project is part of a broader reflection on bodily dynamics and the interactions between different forms of existence.
Conjunctions challenges the viewer to think beyond typical physical relationships by inviting them to reconsider how we are interconnected with our environment. The work creates an immersive and sensory atmosphere where viewers are invited to engage with representations of bodies and matter in interaction. The LED screen, combined with a multichannel sound installation and a carefully crafted light setup, provides a richly sensory experience in which each visual and auditory element seems to converse with the others, creating an organic and vibrant whole. The use of multichannel sound enhances this immersion, enveloping the viewer in a dynamic and spatial auditory environment.
The concept behind Conjunctions offers a complex vision of the world, where the boundaries between the living and the non-living blur and transform. The projected images, coupled with a progressively dense and saturated sound environment, suggest invisible interconnections, exchanges of energy and matter, as if the work itself became a space of passage where elements intertwine and transform. In doing so, P. Staff invites viewers to reflect on their place in the world and their relationship with other forms of life, whether biological or technological.

Conjunctions is thus a poetic and philosophical exploration of invisible exchanges and the intimate relationships that bind us to the universe, in an innovative and captivating visual and auditory language. This work perfectly illustrates the ability of art to transcend boundaries, twist realities, and invite the viewer to question fundamental concepts of our existence.
