MoPA, Screening Night - 2024
Under a rainy sky, yet with an electrifying atmosphere, the ancient theater of Arles hosted the screening night of the end-of-year films by the students of the MoPA school. This much-anticipated event, cherished by both animation enthusiasts and industry professionals, once again marked the culmination of the students' five years of study. It was an evening where the creativity and hard work of the students were brilliantly showcased through their short films and animations.
Each year, this screening provides an opportunity to discover a wide range of styles and techniques. From 2D and stop-motion films to 3D animation productions, every project reflects the evolution of the students throughout their years at MoPA, a renowned school known for its rigorous training and ability to nurture exceptional artists. This event allows the audience to follow the journey of these young filmmakers, observing their technical progress as well as their artistic growth, from the initial concept to the final product. The originality, innovation, and technical mastery of the films presented consistently impress an ever-growing and discerning audience.
The ancient theater of Arles, built at the end of the 1st century BC, is an iconic monument that blends history with modernity. Today, while it remains an unmissable site for visitors, it is also a vibrant venue for numerous cultural events. It notably hosts major festivals such as the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie, the Les Suds festival, and the Festival of Peplum Films. During the summer season, from late June to late August, the venue comes alive with festivals, screenings, and concerts.
For this screening night, we had the honor of intervening to enhance this exceptional space. We implemented custom sound and lighting solutions to create an immersive atmosphere, perfectly suited to the grandeur of the ancient theater. By highlighting the unique features of the venue, such as its two mysterious columns known as “the two widows,” we added an extra touch of magic to an already unforgettable evening.
Each year, this event remains a standout moment in the Arles calendar, celebrating not only the young talents of the MoPA school but also the cultural and historical richness of the venue. En savoir plus
