The Mucem invites Chinese artist Ai Weiwei, one of the major players on the international art scene. Photographer, architect, sculptor, performer, filmmaker and social network activist, his work combines Chinese thought with contemporary art, drawing inspiration from the likes of Marcel Duchamp and Andy Warhol. If his creations question our societies so forcefully, it's because they feature everyday objects that through the artist's gesture of transformation become works of art.
Tonight, Wednesday June 20, 2018, IDzia is in Marseille for the opening of AI Weiwei's exhibition at Mucem.
